A SUCCESSFUL CONVERSAZIONE. (From Our Own Correspondent.) Collingwood, Feb. 18. Yesterday morning the Governor "visited St. Cuthbert's Masonic Lodge, where he met a number of local members of tho order. At 11 1 a.m. tlie party was driven to Para- I para, where His Excellency was shown over the iron deposits and other points of interest. After an al rrcsco luncheon at the Parapara paint works His Excellency was driven through ltockville. returning to Coliingwood late in tne afternoon. The conversazione in the evening was largely attended, and was a brilliant success. The hall was beautifully decorated. His Excellency entered about eight o'clock, and was present for over two hours. The proceedings were very animated, and quite informal, His Excellency contributing to the harmony of the evening. The County Chairman, Mr Buchanan, made an efficient chairman. His Excellency and party left this morning at eight o'clock for Takaka. The best of weather has prevailed throughout. The Hon. It. McKenzie was in attendance on His Excellency during his entire visit.
