The Governor in Nelson.
Lord Plunket, whose term of omc© as Governor of the Dominion shortly exfpires, paid an extended farewell visit to the province last month, being right royally entertained in every quarter. His Excellency proceeded first to Motueka, thence- visiting Takaka and Collingwood, taking Nelson last, via Wakefield and Richmond. At each place an address, couched in loyal terms, -was presented, and a general gala held in honour of the occasion. The city was en fete on February 21st, the day of Lord Plunket's official welcome,, which took place at the Church steps. A general holiday was observed, and. there was in consequence a. large attendance of tko public. A luncheon was afterwards tendered to His Excellency at the City Council Chambers, at which there was a representative attendance, and on the following evening a conversazione was held in his honour at the Provincial Hall. All the functions were most successful. .
