ARRIVAL OF THE WAKANUI.

The New Zealand Shippmg Company's steamer Wakanui arrived at the outer anchorage from Oamaru yesterday morning, and was berthed 'at the Railway wharf last evening. Tho Wakanui is a steamer of 58// tons gross and 5193 tons net. bhe was built by Leslie and Co., of Newcastle (Eng.) in 1899, and is of the followiug dimensions :— Length, 4-U i^hro^Psiit',fepth 28ft 6m. She ia .in'comnrand of Captain N.J!j. Bower, late of the Turakina, who has witb him the following officers : Chief Mr S. Somers-Vine R.N.R.; **ond J. Bradshaw; third. R. -^ Bla , ck j fourth, A. E. Handcock. The chief engineer is Mr W. Bence, who has the following engineers • associated with him: Messrs W. Cleaver, A. Boyd, F. Byles, W. Fanloy, J. Calder, ana W. Wootton.
