Yet another tarror lias beeu added to life. It has been discovered that l the practice of travelling in tramcars is a most dangerous one, and liable to , cause sudden death. At an inquest . held at Stepney recently on a man who died from the rupture of an aneurism ; — or dilatation of an artorv— the coroner, Dr. Wynne E. Baxter said the workmen most liable to this complaint were drivers and conductors f . electric tram cars. . (( "Tlio constant vibration," he added and the sudden jerking of stopping attect the circulation of the blood." Among other now diseases (says the Daily Express") which have been added to the list of human ills in rcccat years are : — Motor car catarrh, caused by the Hying of dust and sand against the surface of the nose and throat Straw-berry gout, caused by 'eating the fruit. ° Motor car throat, caused by tin dust raised by motor ears. Motor madness, a form of nervous breakdown, caused by fast driving. Motor eye, a form of temporary blindness caused by air pressure. ■ driver's spine, a form of parai.ysis caused by vibration. Tone deafness, or inability to distinguish musical airs. Word blindness, or inability to hear certain words.
