MOTUEKA VALLEY SWIMMING CLUB.
The Motueka Valley Swimming Club held a successful sports meeting at Tapawera on Friday last. The day was an ideal one for acquatic sports, and a fair crowd from all parts of the district attended. The events were well contested and. got off punctually to time. Mr Evan Innes Jouos was the successful competitor for the distinct championship medal, and Mr F. Challies won the medal for the 200 yards inter-club c"vent. Both medals were ge;uerously given to the club by Mr F. Harrord, and were presented, amidst hearty cheers, by Miss Coritapce Drummond. Mr D. Poole won Messrs Brown and Kerr's medal for the 50 yards club event. The 'Tapawera ladies kindly provided a liberal afternoon tea both to competitors and spectators.
