(From "The Colonist," Jan. 26.) . The annual. '-meeting : of tho above named Society was held last evening at the. Oddfellows' Hall, when there was a fair attendance of members. < The report and balance- sheet were presented, which showed iv cash. and effects "the" Society is worth £89 odd. The position shown- was deemed to bo very satisfactory. : The election of officers created' some interest. Mr John Barrowman was elected as Chief ; Messrs A. McLean, S. Galbraith, G. H. Campbell, and R. N. Hood as Chieftains ; Messrs P." Harris j W. Moyes, J. N. Easdale, Thomas - Wilson, Robei-t Watson, and R Allau as members of vthe Council ; Mr "W...-J: Smith-as treasurer; Mr S. Tyson as honorary- secretary ; :Mesdames J. Stringer, Toms, Canipbell, Weaver, ?Robson, F> Erahagein, Misses Barrowman, Woodwaixlj, Watson, Messrs. A. Manks, j 4 - Stringer, and Robson as members of the ; Social Committee. ; r : / - It being the anniversary of Burns birthday, Chief Barrowman made anappropriate refei-ence to Scotland'sgreat poet. ; _. t. -i During the evening the Pipe Band plaj-ed ai aiuraber of selections, which were greatly enjoj'ed.
