NELSON AND THE OVERSEA TRADE.
ARRIVAL OFJTHE KARAMEA. (From "The Colonist," Jan. 25.) The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company's steamer Karamea arrived at the outer anchorage at 3.30 yesterday afternoon, having' been romewhat «- laved by rough weather, 'lhe conditions at the time of her arrival not being altogether favourable, the t berth. mc of the vessel was deferred till the evening. At 7.30 the pilot, Captain Collins, -brought the liner ; n, and the berthing operations, which were watched by a large crowd ot interested spectators, wore concluded about 8.45 p.m The Anchor! Company s steamer Koi was employed to swing the Karamea at the cut, and when aoproachinfi the wharf. Loading will Smmence at .8 o'clock this morning, and the vessel will sail at 8 p.m. The Nelson cargo of the Karamea was 860 bales of wool, 100 bales ot hops, 31 casks of tallow, 5 casks ot pelts, 3 cases "miscellaneous, ' 2000 carcases of mutton and lamb, 66 quarters- of beef, and o crates ot Kidaieys. .
