NELSON TROTTING CLUB.

ANNUAL RACE MEETING. The, annual race meeting of the Nelson Trotting Club will be held at Richmoud Park this afternoon, the first race commencing 'at 1.30 p.m. The Nelson Retailers' Association request that premises close at 11.30 a.m., instead of 1 o'clock, to enable tho public and employees, to catch the special train leaving for Richmond at 12.30 p.m. A second train will leave for Richmond at 1.45 p.m., which will enable late . patrons to witness the majority of the events. Trains leave Richmond for Nelson on the return at 6 p.m. and 7.10 p.m., and for up country statio?is at 5.30 p.m. There are seven events set down for decision, and the acceptances received are large, including horses from West Coast, Wellington, Blenheim, and Christchurch, besides a strong contingent of local trotters. The, club's recently purchased starting clock will be used for tho first time tb-day. Arrangements have been made by the committee for Messrs Henry and Co., of Nelson, to supply ' afternoontea. ■
