,MISS LOUISE CROUCHER. (From "The Colonist," Jan. 21.) Despite the wet weather on Wednesday evening, there was a very fair and most appreciative audience a.t the Richmond Oddfellows' Hall, when Miss Lpuiso Croucher gave l) f r violin recital. Much has been • said in these columns from t>me to time relative to Miss CroucLer's capabilities, but suffice it to say that the recital on Wednesday evining was a most enjoyable or.c. In every instance the audience demanded an oncore, Severn I of which .were graciously responded to. In response to a vociferous, encore for the last item, Miss Crouchor responded with a pianoforte solo, played in a most artistic manner. This was the first occasion that Jliss Croucher has been hoard here on tho piano, and lier performance last evening showed that she was a thorough, master of the instrument. Perhr.ps tlio items most enjoyed was the violin solo, "Humoreske," by Dvorak. Sho was keartily applauded and gaiircd further favour by adding a-meritor-ious performance- of "Bach's "Ana on the G String." Vocal items wore contributed by Mr Do Looze, Mr Wilmot, and Mr Hodson. Mr De Lowse accompanied Miss Croucher throughout. The following was the programme submitted: — Kreutzer sonata, for violin and pianoforte (Tbenia and Movement No. 3) (Beethoven), Miss Crouoher and Mr De Looze; song, "O Wert Thou in tlio Cold Blast" (Mendelssohn), Mr Hodson; violin sok>,Hungarian dance (Brahms) Miss Croucher; encore, Barcarolle by Tschaikowski ; song, "Sleep" (Blumenthal), Mr De Looze; violin solo, "Adagio" (De Beriot), Miss Croucher; encore, "Serenade" (Moszkov,ski); song, "Tlio Romany Lass," Mr Wilmot; violin solo, "Humoresko" (Dvorak), Miss Croucher; encore, "Aria on tho G String" (Bach); song, "Lmdettbaiun" (Schufcort), Mr Hodson ; violin solo, "Elegie" (Ernst) Miss Croueher; encore., pianoforte solo by Rubonstein.
