ANOTHER BALLOT TO BE • TAKEN. (Received FebT 10.30 p.m.) ' v Sydney, Feb 7. The Amalgamated Council, after a protracted discussion, dealt with^two resolution. The first, which was moved by Mr Dunleavy, and seconded by Mr Waugh, the Southern miners repreitU*, favoured the + Northerg miners resuming work on the 14th inst This was lost by three to two, both the Northern and Western representatives voting against it. . The second resolution was moved ] by Mr Peters, and seconded by Mr AUi- , son, Northern representatives, that the 'Northern district be asked to ballot upon the acceptance of a Wages Board or an open conference simultaneously with the resumption of Sk, the result to be known not later than Saturday night next and in the event of the Wages Board being adop^ ed, the resumption of work to take ph.ee both in the Northern and Southern districts as soon as possible. This was carried by three to two, the Northern and Western representatives supporting and the Southern, delegates opposing it.
