J At the meeting of the Aid Society yesterday afternoon the report for - the year ending June; 30 was xead. This showed that no doubt owing to v the beneficial effect '■ of the Old Age. Pension Act there was far less dis tress requiring aid than formerly. The amount expended during the year was only £114s 6d. ■ The members of the committee were re-elected, • with the addition of Mr WaUace Snodgrass, in the place of the late Mr R. -Snodgrass, of- whom, the committee . expressed -by a resoliition ranch appreciation for the zealous interest he "took in the work- of the Society, Having been connected with it about 21 years on the committee, and 14 j'ears actingas honorary treasurer. Mr. Henry Baigent has been reelected to represent the Collingwood arid Takaka counties ..ori the Nelson Hospital, arid Charitable Aid Board/
