THE GOVERNMENT'S INTENTION LOSS OF TJELE FOREIGN TRADE. (Received Dec, 1, 8.50 p.m.) Sydney, Dec. 1. In the Assembly to-day, in reply to a question, Mr Lee, Acting-Premier, stated that as the result of the Government's intention, negotiations were proceeding between the parties concerned; in the strike, and they had been given till to-morrow to come to an arrangement, failing which a compulsory Conciliation Board, would be appointed oii Friday. Giving evidence fMore the Colliery Wages Board, a prominent Newcastle proprietor declared that the foreign coal trade had recently fallen off fifty per cent owing to the freights, financial troubles, and general depression. As the result of the present strike next year's contracts had been placed elsewhere, and their foreign trade would be lost for that year
