CRICKET.
[United Pkess Association.] Christchurch, Oct. 28. Mr D. H. Thomson,- lion, .secretary of the Canterbury Cricket tion, received a letter from Mr H. Trumble, of Melbourne, to-day, stating that Mr W. Carlton, of the North Melbourne Club, was willing to accept a two years' ■' engagement as coach to the Canterbury Cricket Association. Mr .Carlton is about the best all-round man in his club.
The following- will represent the Stoke Cricket Club to-morrow against the College, at the College grounds: —P. 'Kenning, L. Martin, S. Rutherford, H/. Ching, W; Heath, M. Gibliri, 0. Best, C: l-orgate; B, Winter, B. 'Wells-, W; Bramner; emergencies, G.; Gibbs, L. Taylor.
