TRACTION ENGINE FATALITY.
Ashburton, May 21. An inquest '-touching the death of James Walsh, the boy who was fatally injured at Wheatstone yesterday, was held before Mr V. G. Day, Magi istrate, ;W'ithoi}t a jury, to-day. A verdict was returned that deceased met his death through injuries : received as a result of being run over by a waggon drawn by a traction engine, no blame being attachable to anyone:. The evidence showed that the deceased was on the draw-bar of the waggon unknown to the. driver, 'and while dismounting he slipped and a wheel passed over him, inflicting shocking injuries, from which he "died shortly afterwards, • •
