RAILWAY ACGIDENT AT MELBOURNE.
ENGINES BACK INTO EACH OTHER. SEVERAL INJTORED. [Pbesb Association — Costeight.] Received April 8, 11.50 p.m. London, April 8. Two unattached engines, each car- ' rying three tons of coal, backed into each other at Spencer street station with _torrific force. Lumps of coal and iron, were thrown: high into 1 the air, and into the cabs of the engines, striking the drivers and firemen.
A fireman Morrah received injuries to his head, and is detained at the hospital. The driver of the other engine and two -firemen were slightly injured. Both engines were badly smashed.
