The Rev. C. H. Garland left for Christchurch yesterday.
Mr F. W. Flanagan, Commissioner of Crown Lands at Nelson, leaves for the West Coast to-morrow,, to give evidence before the Timber Commission, which is to sit at Groymouth.
•Past District Chief Ruler Bro. J. M. Calder was the recipient" at the quarterly meeting of the Bud of Promise Tent, 1.0. R., on Tuesday evening, of a iewel pendant, emblematic of the Order, in recognition of his services to the Tent. Bro. J: Peart," Chief Ruler, mads the presentation on behalf of the Tent, which was suitably acknowledged by Bro. Calder.
