The average Jines made ;9s 6d' to 10s 6d. One or two lots, in very forward condition, malting 12sto 12s 9d. Vefy few^ lambs were offered at they sold at late rates.-= The yarding of fat lambs, was .very small compared- with last week, 2835 being offered, as against 5152. ■-• The quality was fairly "good, and_ priceswere on a par with those, obtained at^. p j evious sales.. In_ some cases the prices were slightly; above the basis., on which, exporters are r'now' ; doing business,, the reason being, that the freezing orders had 'to be filled: "Several export buyers: declined to operate, h,ut the sales' taken throughout were more animated than •on Wednesday last. 'All. the lambe : penned • were, sold and: none were secured by the graziers. The -freezing- buyers took 2354."' The prices" ranging from. 10s 6d'to 13s 5d," a" few extra quality making 13s 6d;to~14&.: Butchers purchased v 4Bl from 10s 9d to 13s, extra qual-' ity making l4s. ' _ ..' The fat sheep yarding particularly wethers was larger than usual and prices were easier. . There was a decline on last week of Is to Is 6d. The freezing buyers operated fairly freely, especially-for lighter sorts. "The prices were, prime wethers 15s to 16s 6d, extra, to 18s, lighter 12s 5d to 14s 9d ; prime ewes lls to 15s, others 7s 3d to 10s 6d. The fat cattle entry numbered 365 head, and included a considerable rifcmber'of fat cows. For the best descriptions of steer beef prices were "slightly easier than the previous sale, while -the demand for cow beef was very weak. The prices showed a marked decline. Best steer beef realised 20s .to 21s 6d, medium 18s to -19s 6d, and cow beef 15s to 17s 6d" per lOOlbs. Steers made £7 10s to £10 ss ; heifers £5 to £7 15s ; and dry cows £4 10s to £8 2s 6d. | There was a small entry of store cattle, the sale dragging j 14 to 15 months old made 25s to 30s ; two year steers 45s to 555 ; two year heifers 40s ; two" and a half year steers £4 ;' dry cows 20s to 70s. . -. There was a good yarding of dairy cows and a goon demand. The best class fetched-£3 6s to £10 7s 6d. There was a medium entry of fat pigs. Those of good quality met with a keen demand.- Choppers realised t-) 63s 6d, heavy baconers s§s to 635, lighter 48s to 545, equal to.4^d tojfd pe 1 ' lb. Heavy porkers 38s to-445, lighter '32s to 375, equal to 6d per lb.
