APPEAL FOR A QUARTER OF A MILLION.
NEW SOUTH WALES' EFFORT. Received March 26, 11.15 p.m.. Sydney, March 26. The Lord Mayor is isuing an appeal to the people of the State. for a quarter of a million towards the cost ';f n Dreadnought. He says that this amount, backed up by the ha/idsouw support he expects from the State Government will erlieve the State from the stigma of selfishness or indifference. ■ A strong and influential committee was appointed to act in con.iunjt.nn with the Lord Mayor.
