FIRE NEAR THE THAMES.
Thames, March 26. Messrs Bourke and Scotcher's store at Kerepehi has been totally destroyed by fire. The stock was valued at £1500. One thousand pounds of Government money was in the safe, and it escaped undamaged, although blackened by the heat. The money was -to pay the men engaged in the Government Piako drainage contracts. The insurances are at present unknown. ':.....
