Hundreds who were unable to gain admission held meetings of their . own! The Lord Mayor presided, and Messrs Murray, Bent and a number of State membsr and others deliveied rousing speeches. ' ' . Resolutions that the eorniijand of the sea was absolutely essential to the integrity of the Empire and the safety of the oversea dominions, and in favour of presenting a Dreadnought were carried.
