Th« following is Captain Edwin's weather forecast to "3 p.m. to-day:— Easterly wind, strong to gale, with heavy rain northward of Napier, Taupo, and Now Plymouth, extending southward to Lyttelton and Hokitika. After 16 hours, northerly wind, strong to gale, with rain everywhere else and a falling barometer. " .
