Sir Ernest Cassell, King Edward's 'financial adviser and intimate friend, tt'lioso nickname is "Windsor Cassell," bears a somewhat: embarrassing likeness to His Majesty. And thereby hangs an amusing story, which is.* said .to be quite true. A young man who. is very well known about town for his high spirits and. cheery impudence, approached at the fashionable- Ascot race traok a gentle--.man whose back he though* he recognised, ,: Slapping him on the back the young man exclaimed: "Hello,: "Windsor Cassell!" Then the>- gentleman accosted turned. To his absolute horror the impulsive back-slapper saw, not Sir Edward Cassell, but His' Majesty, Edward VII. _... / The youth fled on the instant. Later he sought advice from one of the King's friends, and nervously asked, "What am Ito do?" "Never let him see your face again," was the reply.
