Invercargill, March ~4. Interviewed regarding the high Government valuations, Sir Joseph Ward :said he would communicate with the Department with a view to the valuer being heard in his defence, He had been considering for some time an alteration in. the system. He proposed to go into the question fur-^ ther in regard to the valuations throughout the country, with a view to making an improvement.'
