Tiouble arose amongst a section of tbe co-operative workers on the Midland railway at Broken River,, owing to the decision of the -Public Works Department to discontinue paying the day rates of 9s per day^ but to pay is 3d per truck. : The men contend that if paid per truck they must re-: , ctiye 2s per. truck in .order "to make a. living wage.
