After 70 days' trial, during which 150 native witnesses were heard, and the . expenses of, the prosecution reached £10,000, Dinizulu was found guilty of sheltering Bambaata,, Mangati and other rebels, ; but not guilty of inciting to! rebellion. He was sentenced to four years' imprisonment, dating from the time of his arrest, and to pay a fine of £100.
