NELSON V. ; PICTON. (From Our Special Correspondent.) The boisterous weather of the previous days had taken off and Monday was bowler's weather. The Nelson players arrived by the midday tram from Blenheim and after lunch proceeded to the green, where they had a roil up prior to starting the match. . The green had been Cut vory close and rolled twice, and looked very keen. One or two of the Nelson players were somewhat bothered by the wide sweep, ofthe bowls, but on the wh °l e dropped down to it quickly. lhe teams were the sanieas in Blenheim except that tt. F. Mackay took benns place as lead and the skips and Nos 3 in each rink changed places. 1 lay started at 3.30 and opened somewhat inconspicuously for Nelson on two of the rinks. Play ' ho *' e ™**, this, rink gradually drew up with their opponents and succeeded in obtaining a lead of one on the eighteenth head.
