A congress recently held in Stockholm 'for ;the promotion of knowledge amongst the people,- has 'taken up the' question of the; old Swedish songs, airs, and melodies still unrecorded. It was estimated that over five thousand songs of real value, "many -dating far back, might be recorded if the work *is: started at once and before the old generation has passed away.
