The monthly meeting of the Rich ] mond Borough Council was held oj Tuesday, the 9th inst. Present: Th' Mayor (Mr A. Sheat), Crs Wilkes Hunt, Hart, Papps, and Parnzelow. Messrs ' E. Wratten and W. and LSutton applied to have their properties at the top end of Upper Queen street connected with the water service. It was resolved- that whilst the Counoil has, every desire to meet the wishes of the applicants they canrtot accede to their request until it has beeu_ ascertained what improvements it is possible to effect in the source of supply. The opinion was expressed . that good road metal could be obtained from the Council's reserve on the beach Mid it was; agreed that a trial be jiiadc by sinking a : pit. ,_ • It being reported -that the . notices sent to trim and lower _ overhanging hedges etc.; had in certain cases, been disregarded it was resolved that furthere notice be, sent to the'-effect that unloss the work is immediately done, the Council' will have it-^ done and charge the owners with the cost.
