BANQUET AND PRESENTATION AT MOTUEKA.
(Special Reporter of "The - Colonist.") . Motueka, Fst. 3. TheHon R. McKenzie, the Minister for Public Works, is being entertained at n banquet et the Post Office Hotel this evening, the Mayor (Mr P. W. Thorp) presiding. There is a large and representative attendance of residents cf the district. Aino'g the toasts proposed were "Our Guest," by tbe Chairman ; "Tho Dominion of New Zealand." by Mr T. Pattia: "The Premier 'and New Zealand Parliament,' 1 by Mr Andrew Sinclair;- "The Army, Navy, and Volunteers," by Mr T. Maemahon; "The Mayor and Councillors of Motueua, " "by Mr J'; D. Beuke; and "The Oommsrpe and Prosperity of Motueka- District. " On behalf of the residents the chairman presented the Hon. R. MoKenzie with a solid silver tea and cofiee sere ice as a mark of appreciation of his valuable services.; Felicitous speeches were made, and tbe Minister was heartily congratulated on hie elevation to the Cabinet of New Zealand.
