ENQUIRY.
THE ORDER OF REFERENCE. [Pbess Association.— -Copybight.] t Wellington Fob. 1. At the meeting of the Amalgamat--de Society of Railway Servants . held to-day, it was decided to do everything possible for the Addington workshop 'employees who are members; of the Society. .. The followingrequest was telegraphed to the Minister of Railways,, now in Auckland : "That the following be included in i the order of reference .for tho Ad- > dington enquiry— l. Mr Ronayne's ' statement as to tho excessive cost of work at the Addington workshops. '2. ,The .alleged dishonesty in practising, what Mr Ronayne designated the y [Government stroke."- 3 The .men's" alleged incompetoncy. 4. The officials' supposed ■ connivance with the .alleged dishonesty. 5. The officials' alleged incompetence, as evidenced by the cheaper and more effective results obtained at the other railway workshops in the Dominion. 6. The system of control exercised by the General Manager and his staff at headquarters. 7. The method of obtaining supplies of material; as compared with those in use by private firms. 8. The adoption of the most modern methods and appliances. 9. That workmen be allowed to nominate one member of the Board' of enquiry. 10. That the workmen be allowed an advocate, not a solicitor, to appear on their behalf at the enquiry. •"
