.-■'.:•■ ANNUAL: MEETING, * The annual meeting of the Richmond Brass Band was held; in the band room on Monday evening whea there was a iull muster of membei. Mr J. Hunt was voted to the chauand in his remark's .he referred ib the satisfactory state of the band! s linances, which after paying out over £220 for equipment left only a . debit , balance of £35 odd. This, |ie considered, was ' highly satisfactory. The books, showed the" receipts to date to/have been- £225 8s Sd nu-.de up of members' .subscriptions, dOftations, and earnings by the band. Out of ; this '£118- 4s had been paid out for-, instruments which are - all fully paid for; £14 7s 9d for music and stands, arid £85 had been paid off the .uniforms, leaving a balance due on the uniform account of £36 11s lOd, arid there is -£2 in hand. .Mr. Meyer, .'who is shortly leaving the district, tendered - his resignation aSi Secretary, which . was accepted with regret. . ; ..:.-. The. election of officers resulted as follows :^PatroneßS, Mrs C. Saywell; President, Dr Hamiltoti; Vice Presidents, Messrs J. F. Papp, T. Holland, H.'Kingsland, A. Frost. E. B.arbar and J. Hunt; Hon Secretary Mr It. L. Hammond ; Hon Treasurer Mr. JT. Hunt; Hon Auditor, Mr J. ,W. Henderson j Committee, Bands,men.W. Challies, S. Wearing, C. Springer, G. Mills^ P. Beach, and ;' Meier, and Bandmaster Cameroh. ' After some discussion it was resolved that -the offer of the Oddfellows for the: use of the hall for prac,tic^ftwo nights' a week for £5 per 'aririjim be accepted. , It, was resolved that the A. and P. Association be .thanked for the use of the present room which has been at {he^disposal of the band free of charge [isince the band .started. j jL vote of thanks was passed to 'lall^those who have assisted the band in-various ways since its formation. i ,A, hearty ; vote of thanks was ac<cor,ded Mr J. Cameron as Bandmaster andj.td. M r v Meyer as retiring Secretary. /Pr Hamilton (President) intimated jthat; he would give a trophy for the most regular, attendant at practice during -the next. 12 months. . Mr Regi Cresswell was elected a member. and Mr W. Crowleyan honorary^ member. ■ The band is now up to full strength and ;it~^s : hoped that with the more fifmtrally situated and larger ■ prac-tice-room the band will continue to prosper.-; ■ ' ' It. .is. the intention of the band to T>lay<; out on Christmas eve and ' a nrogramme of appropriate' music is Wing, prepared. - A vote of thanks to the chair terminated the meeting.
