Mr Lloyd George, Chancellor of tbe Exchequer, attempted to address a crowded meeting of the, Women's Liberal Federation upon womanhood gjtfrage nt the Albert Hall, but militant suffrages refused to give him a hearing. Mr Lloyd George succeeded in stating that the Government would draft an Electoral Reform Hill enabling a women's suffrage amendment to be introduced, and if carried, they would, accept the responsibility. But they were unable to introduce a Bill' themselves, as a sincere and powerful minority in the Cabinet was opposed to the principle.
