The already loDg list of books by Rose N. Carey has been added to by the" publication of ."On the Sunny Side of the Hill, " a copy of which ws have received from the publishers. Miss Carey's naw book will pro* bably be one of the most popular of her stories. It lacks none of the attraction that distinguished her other novsls, and is caioulated to appeal to readers, old and young, and of botb sßses. Though primarily the love stories of a brother and sister, both under 25. it is also the love story of a lady who has lived for half a century, "the aunt of the hero and heroine, and an altogether charming character. Tbe "New Idea" for October maintain? the reputation of tbat publication as the leading niagazice for women produced in Australasia. Grace S. Richmond continues her interesting "Adventures of Juliet,'' and there are a, number of interesting, anrl amusing short stories. "Ada Cfossley at Home" is the suojset of an article by Katharine S. Pritcbard, on a visit to tbe famous songstress. "The Urim a s of the Plume Hunters" is a notable supplement to the recent appeal of Mr Oeakin to Australasian woman on the cruelty of fashion. Toe other contents arc of the usual hign standard.
"The Review of Reviews, " for November has several attractive articles, 'among the best being "The American Presidential Election," "The New Hold-Getter of the World" and Russia Revisited." The leading articles! contain references to such up-to-date articles as "How War Will be .Waged in the Air," "Is Franc Dying" "Is the Conquest of the Air Worth While." Tbes'e are only a few of the very many splendid things which are noticed in the current issue* "The Review of Revies" keeps up well its character of bei;ig one of the finest mirrors in winch the current history of the world is reflected. The whole of the world's -magazine literature is brought under review, so that for t^e person who wishes .to get a •■» orld- -vide view of affairs the "-Re- j view of Reviews'! still remains un I surpassed.
