FIRE AT LYTTELTON.

_ «i Uhristchurcb, Nov. 1. The grocery and bakery premises of Messrs C. H. .A gar and Co. LyfcteltoDj were destroyed by tiie betseen tur.ie and four o'clock this > morning. It spread quickly to the upper storey, and gave no timo for any salv3ge operations. The brigade managed to save the building from complete destruction, but the loss both of Iho I building and its contents was practically complete.. Tne premises were iisured in the Victoria Office for £350, but the loss is roughly estimated at doubls that amount. The stock, valued at betwenn £600 and £800, was uninsured.- Mr Gelletty's loss of furniture was partially oovered by a pohoy for £150. -,■'■•■ ■
