A committee of depositors in connection with the recently suspended National Bank at Wjiynesburg, distfovered a cheque written in pencil on the blank side of official paper, which the bank had cashed, and they allege that £24,000 of the bank's funds were expended in one election to secure the success of the Republican- candidate for a judgeship. President Roosevelt is intensely shocked at the revelation, and has ordered an acceleration of the trial of .the late president of the bank.
