The losses exceed the insurances. JVlasterton, April 15. An unoccupied dwelling owned by Mr J. Tait, was destroyed by tire last night. The building was insured for £300 in the United office, and the furniture for £75 in the North British. Mrs Mcßride, the occupier, waa absent, from Masleiton at the time of the outbreak. invercargill, April 15. A five-roomed house, which was occupied by Mr Thomas Hunt and family, at Waikiwi. WBS burned this evening. Tlie children were alone in tbe house, and one of them, while looking with a candle for a plaything, "set fire to tbe sofa. The chilflre:i got out ji'sfc in time.
