SHIPPING INTERFERED WITH. Hastings, March 20. During the last fifty-sis houi's 1.G3 inches of rain have been registered. It is still raining steadily. New Plymouth, March 2 . The steamer Corinna arrived at thelbreak water this morning after . a very rough passage from Wellington. At times the vessel was standing almost on end, with her bow out of the water and her stern submerged six or eight feet. The engine-room door was smashed m, and three feet of water found its way into the stoke hold. A ti reman was knocked down by the heavy sea, and had to receive medical attention here. A little damage was caused on deck, but the cargo is undamaged.

A cold southerly gale, with frequent heavy sbowers is being experienced. Shipping is delayed in port, |and several yachts have broken from their moorings in the river, and others have been sunk.

There was a heavy gale and fierce thunderstorm last night. Soma sheds were blown down, some Verandahs uplifted, and half a dozsn yachts were sunk at tbeir moorings,
Toe weather is stiJl boisterous to day. and the river is in heavy flosd, and is still rising.
