A HOSPITAL COMLPAINT.
Auckand, March 5. At a meeting of the Trades and Labour Council it was reported that a servant girl suffering from varicoe veins, after being received into tbe Auckand Hospitall, was bathed and compelled to leave the hospital, and had to walk home to Ponsonby. some two miles, not having money to pay the tram fare; She had been told to go to the Northern Wairoa Hospital, having admitted that she had been up north on a soft of holiday; One member urged that an explanation should be asked for before taking action, but the Council passed a resolution deploring the conditions and management of the Hospital, and urging the Hospital Board to take steps to prevent, a recurrence of j such anomalies. The hospital autbI orities state that the case "of the serI vani girl is much exaggerated. The hospital accommodation is seriously taxed by a large number of typhoid cases, the fever wards being absolutely full. Tne girl was told that the beds were required for ca3v> of a ! much more serious nature. Sbe left
tbe hospital quite cheerfully.
