From a herd of fourteen cows for the month of December Mr. E. Charles, of Aorangi (Manatvatu) received a cheque of £24 from the Bunnythorpe Dairy Company. The cows are a mixed breed, chiefly o Jersey strain. The Government has declined an an offer to take over the Kamo hot springs, which aro situated about three miles north of Whangarei. A higher pric* than the Government cared to give was asked. The Alfredfcon Education Eeserve of 7000 acres in the Wairarapa, portions of which have just been well burnt, is to be thrown open shortly for lease in seven blocks of one thousand acres each. Belwyn Uollege, Dunedin, has, by a recent regulation of '.the Senate of the University. of Durham, Englaria, been accorded the status of a college assoiate with that university. There aro at present only two colleges besides Selwyn College, outside Ene:'land whioh have received this privilege.
