Mr Hiddell, S.M., gave judgment to-day in the case against Captain Kempson, master of tbe steamer Athenic, who ■ was charged with transferring firemen from the Athenic to the lonic without first discharging them in the presence of the Superintendent of Marine in the manner provided by the Shipping and Seamen's Act. The Magistrate considered that the defendant had committed a breach of the Act, and fined him 20s and costs £6 13s. I — - -
