On a recent afternoon a pleasing ceremony took place in the grounds of the Richmond School, where the local School Cadets were assembled, under command of Captain Cowles. The medal won by Corporal Suttou. and the badges won by Percival Holland and Edward Batup, in the Government competitions for School Cadets, were presented by Mr A. T. Maginnity, Chairman of the Education Board, and Mr Alfred Sheat, Mayor of Richmond, both of whom congratulated • the members, and tendered some excellent advice to the lads. Cheers wero given for both the gentlemen, alsj for Mr and Mrs Talbot, who were celebrating their gold3n wedding.
