EXTRAORDINARY CONDUCT. ! FIRING FARM STACKS. Gore, July 28. Rather an extraordinary occurence was reported from Riversdale this morning. A number of fires were observed over the plain and a settler on making an investigation saw a man deliberately setting fire to several straw staoks. The settler obtained assistance, but in the meantime the man reached the next farm, and set fire to three oat sheaf stacks; also to several straw stacks. Two of the victims met and secured him. In all he had burned 15 stacks, valued at over £500. The man was brought to Gore to-night for medical examination, he seemingly being a lunatic. He arrived in the district several days ago. He is about 50 years of age, and gives his name as George Alurray. He states that he has a wife and three children in Duhedim
