(Per Press Association.) BISLEY RIFLE MEETING. KINGS' PRIZE~WON BY A i SOUTH AUSTRALIAN. London. July 21. Lieutenant Addison/of South-Aus-traiia, Won the King's Prize at Bisley with] a "score of 318, after Armdiirer Padgett, of the East Yorkshire, who scored 319, had been disqualified because^ he had been given an extra shot for a bad cartridge, which had missed the target. Lieutenant-Addi-son tied with Private Hope, of the -Second Middlesex Rifles, but won the shobt off. * Lieutenant Addison, who won the King's' Prize at Bisley, scored 48 at 800 yards, totaling 241, against Sergeant Ommunsden and Private Bate 243. Hope scored 240. Addison, Ommunsden and Hoare were equal at 900 yards with a score of 282; Padget 279. Padgett had been hailed aa the winner for some time, when it wa3 rumored that a protest was lodged. The Council held a meeting on the spot, and decided" that the Range-master's issue of an extra round of ammunition- contravened rule 182. Hence Padgett was only 3l6.and was placed sth, winning £20. During the shoot-off a huge crowd encircled Addison and Hope, including Lord Roberts and all the Australians on the ground. Both marksmen were cool and collected, and scored inners for sighters. Then Addison rung on a bulls-eye and an inner, followed by another bullseye, total 14. Hope's three shots were an inner and a couple of magpies, total 10. Addiaon was hoisted on a chair, and carried around the camp, headed by the band of the Liverpool Volunteers. Half of the bearers of the chair were Australians and the rest belonged to Hope's corps and the London Rifle Brigade. Princess Christian pinned on the gold medals. The victory was extremely popular. The Canadians gave Addison an immense reception. Several other Australians woo prize money in the matoh. deceived July 22, 9.28 p.m. Australians have won eight out of twelve prizes presented by the London City Corporation for the best Colonial scorers in the Grand Aggregate, winning £80 out of £95.
