Raetihi, July 19. A Parliamentary party, consisting iof Messrs Remington, Buddo, Barber, Hogan, Fisher, Izard Jennings, Wood, T. Mackenzie, and Greenslade, M's.H.R, and the Hods. T. K. Mac Donald, Callan, and Jenkinson, Ms.L.C, feft Wellington by the mail train, and from Palmerston travelled by a "special" to Rangitawa over the Main Trunk Line, and were drven to Raetihi, where they arrived at 6.30. They vere entertained at a banquet in the evening. The trials of back blocks settlers 1 were placed in the foreground by the speakers, and a demand to lay a railway to assist in getting valuable timber to markets. Several members made speeohes laudatory of the courage of the pioneers in the opening up of the district. The party leave for Auckland by coach for Raurimu to-morrow. «They were accompanied by Mr Blow, Under Secretary and Mr W. Wilson, Parliamentary librarian.
