Dunedin, July 12. I In the Central Ofcago and Oatnaru districts there has practically been no rain since August last. At Law* rence from January to June the rainfall measured only seven inches. The work of the farmers and miners is being hindered. At Blue Spur the average for sluicing- work has ran as low as 42 hours per week. The drought will have a severe effeot on the grain crop in the Oamaru district.
