Received 23, 4.19 Sir J "Lady and Miss Ward left by the Maheno for Wellington where, they are timed to reach at 9.30 on Wednesday morning. They received an enthusiastic send off.
Received June 24, 12. a.m. Ban Sydney June 2,3. FA deputation representing the New South Wales Country Press Association waited on Sir J. Ward, and congratulated him on his efforts to secure a reduction in the cable rates. Sir J. Ward in reply said he was pleased to know that his efforts were approved. He was fully determined to continue the campaign. He knew the disabilities of the present system of Press cables. and trusted that the course he had decided on taking would not only prove acceptable to New Zealand but beneficial to" 1 Australia, as well as a forward ' move towards unity of the Empire.
