EASTER MONDAY.
•The weather was again fine yesterday, and. the numerous pleasure resorts in t,be' vicinity of Nelson we re largely patronised.' All the available vehidles at, the various livery stables were cut on hire, aod there were numerous driving parties at Cable Bay, Wangamoa, the Waimeas, and other favorite places, while the Maitai ; Valley and the Sands found attractions for nianji. So far as can be married, the holidays b&ve passed off without any mishap. The train service was well patronised yijster day, the two morning trains out eaoh taking about three hundred excursionists. These, with other pleasure seekers who had been spending a few days in the country, returned to town last evening the train, which consisted of two engines, six trucks, seven cars and two vans, bringing in, over 700 peopleThe Brett-Nelson pictures were shown at the Theatre Royal last evening before a crowded t audienc3. Toey were chiefly of. a sporting cnaractor, the beat of .the series being representations df" 1 the New Zealand v. Wales football match, and the Melbourne Cup of 1906. The pictures were small and some of them were somewhat Indistinct; Tha sporting films were interspered with humourous pictures, which caused amusement: The steamers. Wainui and Mapourika, nvhich left for Wellington last night, were crowded with returning excursionists;
