This afternoon the 500 yards range of the Nelson match (500, GOO.. and 700 yards) and the 900 yards of the Canterbury match were taken. The weather was line, but a puffy strong wind veering from 7 degrees left rear, to 7 degrees right rear, upset the shooting, and scoring was nojfc good. The highest scorers at 900 yards weie Catley 23 and McLeod 23. At the 500 yards or the Nelson match the highest scorers were Welch, Opaki ; Domigan, Feilding; Willwood, Hawkes Bay; and King, Opaki, 33 each. Both matches will be resumed tomorrow morning. Manesen and Frank secured first and second places in the two matches now finished. Frank stands high in the Belt aggregate Milroy, Oh ing and Irvine are following slowly. Troublesome weather at the long ranges is causing big changes each day. In the aggregate the prizewinners are Frank, Manssen, Milroy, Ching, Sim and Irvine. Catley wins first place against all comers at 900 yards.
