MARVELLOUS ICE FALL

Christchurch, Feb 27 Dr Bell, of the Geological Surveys, returned to Christchurch today, after a month's exploration of the glaciers about the head of the Twain river. Jle desribes the Douglas glacier, on the west side of Mount Sefton, as marvellous for an ice-fall of sheer two thousand feet. The ice is falling continuously with reports and concussions like cannonading.
