An excuse c was received for the absence of Mr > 3raig. t The minutes having been confirmed I :he correspondence was read. , 6 The Headmasters reported as to , tee annual cleaning of the schools, their reports beng generally satisfac- \ fcory, though some complaints were ( made as to the piano and some ( bhings being affected by water at , Bampden street School. The Com ( mittee considered the piano ought , to have a good cover. The monthly reports showed the ( average attendance at the Boys' and j Bastern division to be"89.1 percent, , and at the Girls' School and the , western division 89.2 per cent. , Resolved to proceed 'against the i parent of a girl attending school ir- < regularly. - ■ 1 Accounts amounting to £12 9s lid ] were passed for payment. , Rev J. H. MacKenzie said the J combined Committee set up to con- , aider the designs for the new build- • ing for the Girls' School in Shelboume - street had selected three. Twelve of the designs were for a one-storey building and two for two storeys. Two selected were of onestorey, and one of two storeys was strongly commended. Personally, he favored a two-storey building. All the designs had some defect, and an excellent building could be obtained by culling from the different designs. The Committee then adjourned.
